Since 1990, Aaron has been using serigraphy, one of the many mediums in which he is proficient, to get his message out. His first forays into the world of the squeegee resulted in
t-shirts and stickers for his snowboard-clothing company, Polar Circus.
In university Aaron focused on art prints. The subject matter of those prints was complimentary to the earlier snowboard lifestyle, and included images of climbing and wilderness adventure.

Today, similar themes continue to dominate Aaron's serigraphs: nature, landscape, the wild. (Not surprisingly, these are the same themes that are the current focus of Aaron's photography).
Serigraphy (another name for silkscreening) utilizes a finely woven mesh to which a stencil is affixed. Were the stencil is open, ink is pushed through the mesh to create an image.

Aaron's serigraphs are built up in a series of colour layers (up to 20 in a single print). He uses both computer-based and hand drawn techniques for creating stencils.
In his recent prints Aaron has been attempting to capture the textures, colours, and graphic shapes of nature. With a rough plan in mind he heads into the studio. Aaron's ongoing dialog with the print over a period of several weeks results in an organic mixture of wild beauty and graphic richness.
